How To Remove Hard Water Spots

When learning how to remove hard water spots the most important thing is using a quality hard water stain remover. This may seem obvious, but finding this product is not always as easy as you might imagine.

Quality hard water spot removers can be found aat a variety of online window cleaning and supply stores. Make sure you do not waste your time with products such as Simple Green , Tilex , Limeaway , and CLR because they just dont work at all.

The best hard water stain remover that I am aware of and use, is called Bio-Clean. You can order it at the jracenstien link on this page. It usually runs about $30.00 and comes in a small container which will last quite awhile.

Once you have recieved you hard water spot removal product, apply a small amount to start to a clean rag or WHITE scub pad. Move it in a circular motion on the stain until it starts to feel smooth. The next step to removing this hard water stain is to fill a small bucket with water and squirt a small amount of Dawn dishwash detergent into it. If you have a window cleaning wand or sponge , dip it into the solution and apply to window. You will then need a squeegee to clean off the water and soap solution.

If the hard water stain persists you will need to repaet until it is totally removed. This process will take around 5-10 minutes per stained area. More often then not you will be required to put in a little elbow grease so be prepared. This is by far the best way to remove hard water stains from your glass and shower enclosures.

A Small tip:

Make sure the settings on all sprinklers are correct so they will not spray your windows. Also use Bio-Clean when removing the hard water spots for best results. Get more info here on removing water spots and window cleaning

How To Clean Windows At Home

Now you are ready to start cleaning your windows. First make sure that all inside furniture and obstacles are moved away from the windows. Atleast give yourself enough room to move in between windows safely.

When washing/cleaning windows I always try to start in one corner and move my way around the house in order left to right or right to left. This will help you keep track of where you are in case you need a break or get that unexpected phone call. Once you have your starting point , lay down a towel and put your window cleaning bucket on top of it. This will be your work station for this part of the house. Dip your wand/sponge into the window washing solution and get it wet and then ring it out well. Apply wand to window/glass and scrub gently for about 10 seconds.

The next step in window washing is to find the right squeegee. One that will work with the size of window you are cleaning. In this example we will need on that is similiar in size to the window /within reason. If it is a lrge window use a large size squeegee, if it is small use a smaller size squeegee and so-on.
Rather then using advanced window cleaning methods we will start with just a simple and easy way to wash your windows.

Apply the squeegee to the window on the very left edge at the top. Pull the squegee straight accross until you are at the opposite side of the window. Take your towel/rag and wipe the rubber squeegee blade. Move down to the next part of the window/glass and repeat. When you have cleaned the whole window ,use your rag with two fingers and wipe down the very edges of the window/glass. Wipe down the wind sill and ledge and move to the next window.

Follow this process throughout the home until all windows are completed. Once you have finished , go out and get your screens (which should be dry now) and put them back in place.
